The Earful Tower is an icon used in Disney theme parks. The tower is based on water towers commonly found on Hollywood studio backlots of the first half of the 1900s, originally a safety measure to douse any fires on the film sets. The tower resembles the water tower found at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, with the exception of the Mickey Mouse ears.

History[]

The Earful Tower is located in Disney's Hollywood Studios's backlot area at the Walt Disney World Resort. The tower can be observed by guests riding the Studio Backlot Tour. The tower originally served as the park's icon, along with the exterior facade of Grauman's Chinese Theatre at the Great Movie Ride. Eventually, the Sorcerer's Hat was completed on September 28, 2001 and has since served as the park's official icon.
