50th Anniversary Imagiction! Parade was a parade based on Tokyo Disneyland's the Dreaming Up!. It was shown at Walt Disney World Resort's Magic Kingdom for its 50th anniversary, debuting on September 16, 2021 as a part of bringing the stories of Magic Kingdom throughout the park. The parade celebrates Imagiction from Disney's films. It had replace Festival of Fantasy Parade, The music also includes a theme song from Angie Keilhauer and Jordan Fisher. The resort's 50th anniversary promotion, titled "Crystal Celebration", ran from October 1, 2021 and ended on September 5, 2022.

Development[]

50th Anniversary Imagiction! Parade presents these stories through a parade float development, scenic design, show actions. The parade reflects the hard, creative work of Parade Designer Jody Daily and Kevin Kidney, Creative Director Steven Davison and Managing Producer Kris Bunner. Many others have contributed to the 50th Anniversary Imagiction! Parade. Mark Hammond, whose previous work includes Disney California Adventure’s Paint the Night and Tokyo Disneyland’s Dreaming Up!, designed the musical score. Mirena Rada, who has previously worked on projects for Disneyland Resort, Tokyo Disney Resort, and Shanghai Disneyland Resort, designed the costumes.

On April 17, 2021, Walt Disney World rolled out the red carpet to show off the latest elaborate costume creations for their upcoming 50th Anniversary Imagiction! Parade, debuting next month. With a backdrop of three of the new giant-sized floats, Disney sent parade performers walking the “catwalk” backstage behind the Magic Kingdom to unveil costumes inspired by films.

Parade Unit[]

  • Opening Unit: The parade starts with Bambi, Thumper and Flower from Bambi, Bambi is a fully working animatronic and hovers over the title-float; Mickey Mouse and Tinkerbell atop flying machine from Leonardo Da Vinci rainbow and star, as well as a Bambino from Pixar short La Luna. This float looks similar to the Mickey's Shooting Star Unit from Tokyo Disneyland's former daytime parade names Disney's Dreams on Parade, As the host of the parade, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale walk in front of it.
  • Musical Unit: This 2-in-1 float has the first part have Tin Soldier and Ballerina at the front of a giant Castle Clock, and the second has Donald Duck and José Carioca riding a giant Little Toot. This unit was float by Bumble Boogie Bee from Happiness is Here Parade.
  • Toyland Unit: Pinocchio, Alice, White Rabbit, Mad Hatter and March Hare appear on a float depicting a Workshop and Tea Party, featuring Cuckoo Clock, Teacups and Pots, walls made out of Toyshop, Cards and flowers adorning the clockwork and green grass. This float looks similar to the Pinocchio/Alice in Wonderland Unit from Tokyo Disneyland's former daytime parade names Dreaming Up!.
  • Beauty Unit: The parade spring with Disney princesses, Snow White from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella from Cinderella, Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty, and Rapunzel from Tangled. This float looks similar to the Disney Princess Unit from Disneyland's former daytime parade names Parade of the Stars,
  • Magicaliy Unit: This 2-in-1 float has the first part have Anna and Elsa at the front of a giant Olaf, and the second has Winnie the Pooh riding a giant Heffalumps and Woozles. The unit is rumored to receive twins to Hong Kong Disneyland's daytime parade Flights of Fantasy Parade.
  • Wonder Unit: Ariel ride a giant Tamatoa containing a huge shell, as a Flounder and Sebastian looks ahead of them. Moana and 2 performers ride small fish floats behind them, This float looks similar to the The Little Mermaid Unit from Disneyland's former daytime parade names Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams.
  • Spaceship Unit: 2 Giant Space make up this stars, which Wall-E and EVE host for Woody and Buzz Lightyear, celebrating Space Mountain in Tomorrowland.
  • Flying Air Finale Unit: The final float is another 2-in-1 float. Mary Poppins gracefully floats high over dumbo, and Peter Pan, Wendy Darling, Aladdin and Jasmine flying high over the moon with the help of magic carpet and happy thoughts.

Differences between the Dreaming Up! and this parade[]

  • The floats have been rearranged. starting with Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio, Princess, and lastly Winnie the Pooh
  • Some of the floats have been re-designed, and others remained the same with some minor additions.

Trivia[]

  • The show stop theme Live the Magic was a reference to Disneyland's former 60th Anniversary nighttime spectacular Disneyland Forever.
  • There was a similarly titled parade at Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland called Flights of Fantasy Parade and Dreaming Up! and ran from 2011 and 2018. While they had similar names, both parades had a different soundtrack and theme
  • The original show stop was about three minutes long. It was cut down to two-and-a-half minutes for pacing. the full version was retained for use on the weekends during park opening rope drop.
  • The clock ballerina design from Pinocchio sense were from its daytime parade Dreaming Up!.
  • The russian puppet design from Pinocchio sense were from its daytime parade Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams.
  • The can-can puppets design from Pinocchio sense were from its daytime parade Dreaming Up!.
  • The tulgey wood animals design from Alice in Wonderland sense were from its daytime parade Dreaming Up!.
  • The snow design from Frozen sense were from its daytime parade Mickey's Storybook Express and Disney Stars on Parade.
  • The heffalumps design from Winnie the Pooh sense were from its daytime parade Dreaming Up!.
  • The bee design from Winnie the Pooh sense were from its daytime parade Flights of Fantasy Parade.
  • The little green men design from Toy Story sense were from its daytime parade Disney Stars on Parade.
